Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4

Born in Belgrade, Anika Vavić's life transformed when she found her mentor in Vienna, Mstislav Rostropovich, with whom she studied the piano repertoire of Prokofiev and Shostakovich, obtaining from her master the teachings gathered firsthand from the composers with whom he was close. With the Gulbenkian Orchestra she will perform Shchedrin's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 4, a commission from Steinway for the celebration of its centenary.
