Dvořák Symphony No. 6

Regarding a recent performance of Sergei Rachmaninov's music, The Times gave Alexander Gavrylyuk top marks and wrote that "technique is one thing, good taste is another", praising "the transitions between joy and sadness", as well as "the revealing clarity and serenity". At Gulbenkian Música, the pianist will perform that Russian composer's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, in a programme that also includes Sinfonia Iceberg, a distinguished work by Lithuanian composer Raminta Šerkšnytė, and Dvořák's Symphony No. 6, conducted by maestro Izabelė Jankauskaitė, one of the most promising orchestral conductors of her generation.
