Shostakovich Violin Concerto No. 1

Violinist Inmo Yang captured the attention of the classical music world when he won the Paganini Competition in 2015. Since then, the South Korean musician has conquered major stages thanks to an unparalleled density and delicacy, coupled, according to the Boston Globe, with "perfect technique and a tender, warm tone". With Orquestra Gulbenkian, Yang will perform Shostakovich's Violin Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 1, composed in the summer of 1947. The piece will be accompanied by the Symphony No. 4 by Polish composer Grażyna Bacewicz, another emblematic post-war work.
