BOX OFFICE OPENING – SEASON 2026_2027
From 18 to 21 June: exclusively for CCB Card holders
From 22 June onwards: general public
It is from the intersection between a brief program note for Ilimaq, a musical work by John Luther Adams, and a concluding paragraph from the program sheet for May I Help You? Posso Ajudar? Artes e artistas da década de 1970 em diante that the public is invited to slow down and inhabit an expanded temporality, where listening becomes an act of presence.
Ilimaq means «spirit journey», reminding us of silence, quietude and understanding of the environment surrounding us. Sound becomes a means to experience and perceive the interdependence between body and space. May I Help You? questions, provokes, fragments and distracts, proposing a meeting space where attention to what surrounds us calls for ethical and political reflection.
Both proposals lead us to an aesthetic experience that goes beyond passive contemplation and calls us to active sensory participation, whether through listening to the sound environment in Ilimaq, or through observing the critical dialogue promoted by May I Help You?.
Guided tour by João Mateus at 15:30.
