Performance

Please Do Not Touch is a solo show that addresses themes such as historical reparation, museums and forms of violence associated with the colonial legacy of the last two centuries. The narrative adapts to the geographical context of each performance, incorporating references and specific episodes from different cities and territories.

Performed in Portuguese or English, the monologue can take different formats and durations — 20, 30 or 45 minutes — proposing a critical reflection on memory, colonialism, representation and historical violence.

The work premiered at the Modern Art Centre of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, as part of International Museums Day, and subsequently won second place at the VII Festival Pezas Dun Teatro do Porvir, in A Coruña.
