Poulenc's Concerto for Two Pianos

Francis Poulenc composed his Concerto for Two Pianos in 1932, in response to a commission from Princess Edmond de Polignac, and premiered the piece that same year at the Venice Festival. The work, as generous in humour and lightness as it is in virtuosity and lyricism, went on to gain great popularity and is now being performed at Gulbenkian Música by brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen, a piano duo with remarkable emotional and interpretative rapport. Conductor Hannu Lintu leads the two Dutch pianists in concert, as well as the last two symphonies by Haydn and Mozart.
