Coro Gulbenkian a cappella

In this concert by Coro Gulbenkian, conductor Martina Batič leads a selection of musical pieces by North American composers. The choice includes music composed by Leonard Bernstein for the play The Lark (the trial and execution of Joan of Arc brought to the theatre), as well as works by William Schuman and Randall Thompson based on the poetry of Walt Whitman, along with the African American spiritual My Lord, What a Morning and the Bahamian spiritual All My Trials, with arrangements by Harry Thacker Burleigh and Norman Luboff.
