LUME – Lisbon Underground Music Ensemble

On its 20th anniversary, the project created and led by Marco Barroso brings to Jazz em Agosto a singular and irreverent vision of big band sonority. Composed of jazz and classical music musicians, LUME explores the typical vocabulary of composition for this type of formation, but playfully engaging with its commonplaces while injecting references from rock, popular music, vanguard jazz, contemporary written music and experimentalism.
