Bonbon Flamme

After an intense trip to Mexico, Valentin Ceccaldi, cellist and founder of the Bonbon Flamme collective, returned home with the desire to compose music that would draw from everything he had absorbed: the vibrant colors of nature and the streets, the acidity of lemons, the sweetness of avocados, the fire of chili peppers, the omnipresence of violence and death, the relationship with ancestors and religion. All of this is present on the quartet's second album, Calaveras y Boom Boom Chupitos. Accompanied by three other fiery musicians (Luís Lopes, Etienne Ziemniak and Fulco Ottervanger), Ceccaldi leads music with "an enormous amplitude of colors" and which adds "atmospheric pieces, occasional children's melodies and a touch of ragtime", according to UK Jazz News.
