Following its premiere in Porto, False True Stories: A Pina Collage has toured the country, passing through Faro and Aveiro, and now arrives at CCB.

«We are the trampoliners, false true pretenders, actors, imitators, musicians, dancers, singers, storytellers…» For Manuel António Pina (1943—2012), the true and the false, being and seeming are at play not only on a stage, but first and foremost in the playful space of our imagination.

False True Stories: A Pina Collage allows itself to be led by that «bird in the head», departing from a dramaturgy that embraces all sources of Pina's words — theatre, poetry, chronicles — and aims to be for everyone, grown-ups and children.

Victor Hugo Pontes, the new artistic director of Teatro Nacional São João, director and choreographer for whom movement intertwined with word is «touchstone», constructs an enchanted, acrobatic and composite universe, set to music by A garota não.

False True Stories: A Pina Collage celebrates the topsy-turvy world of one of our greatest poets (2011 Camões Prize winner), full of humour, verbal inventiveness and nonsense. A performance that wishes to follow this purpose of Pina's: «Oh, to gather the pieces of all books / and unimagine the world.»
