DEAD POETS SOCIETY

DEAD POETS SOCIETY

Theater • M/14

At a boarding school in the United States, "Tradition, Discipline, Honour and Excellence" are the pillars of a rigid and constrained education. These will be put to the test by the charismatic Literature professor, John Keating, simply because his methods differ from the status quo. Instigating young students to question the world and adopt new perspectives, Keating will provoke in them an intense catharsis and great disruption in the school's daily life. This moving story, with a title that resonates in the imagination of several generations, speaks to us of emancipation, friendship, dream and loss. After its success in New York and Paris, Clube dos Poetas Mortos arrives at Teatro Sá da Bandeira. The theatrical version is by Tom Schulman himself, author of the homonymous film, whose motto is "carpe diem".
