BOX OFFICE OPENING – 2026_2027 SEASON
June 18-21: exclusively for CCB Card holders
From June 22 onwards: general public
In January 2025, João Roiz Ensemble, in collaboration with Alexandre Delgado, began the Beethoven Pilgrimage 2025—2027, commemorating the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's death (1770—1827). This national project celebrates the life and work of the composer and his contribution to European humanism.
Over three years, the Ensemble performs the complete chamber music by Beethoven — trios, string quartets and quintets — throughout the country. The initiative, unprecedented in Portugal, offers audiences deep knowledge of the composer's work and thought. The concerts are commented live by Alexandre Delgado, who engages with the audience, contextualizing the works historically and aesthetically.
The final concert, at Centro Cultural de Belém, marks the 200th anniversary of Beethoven's death, with performances of String Quartet Op. 59 No. 3 and Great Fugue Op. 133, works of extraordinary power and transcendence.
Concert commented by Alexandre Delgado.
