The Orquestra do Norte presents itself in the Small Auditorium of Centro Cultural de Belém in a commented concert focused on the splendor of Spanish music. Under the direction of principal conductor Fernando Marinho, the program presents seminal works that define the musical identity of Spain, offering an engaging artistic experience.
The musical journey begins with the overture Los Esclavos Felices, by Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga, a work that reveals the elegance and brilliance of one of Spain's most notable musical talents. The highlight of the concert is the iconic Concierto de Aranjuez, by Joaquín Rodrigo, where the solo guitar takes center stage, alternating with the orchestra moments of lyricism and virtuosity. The journey continues with the rhythmic energy of Manuel de Falla, through a suite from the ballet El Sombrero de Tres Picos, culminating in the celebrated and hypnotic Danza ritual del fuego, from the work El Amor Brujo.
Commented concert by Susana Henriques.
