a mind in the heart (TRPTK, 2026) marks Joana Gama's return to solo recording following Arcueil (2019). This time, the motivation came from an invitation by Serbian composer Ivan Vukosavljević. For Joana Gama, it was not difficult to be convinced, since this piece shares affinities with works by composers she has performed in recent years, from Erik Satie to John Cage, as well as Federico Mompou and Hans Otte.

On the context of the composition, the composer states: «These eight pieces became a growing companion in a chapter of my life marked by many profound transformations. A chapter that culminated in the most significant event of my life so far — the birth of my daughter.» Drawing inspiration from the phrase that gives the cycle its title — and with some of the movements referencing a sermon by Meister Eckhart — Vukosavljević also drew inspiration from Orthodox Christian ethos and the musical heritage surrounding him.
