Ten regular characters from Parque Mayer, a fishmonger woman, a sailor, a street urchin, a ballad seller, a cautioner, a shooting gallery girl, a wealthy widow, a writer, a seamstress and a restaurant owner, become the guardians of the memories of Teatro Variedades – they attend all premieres, both while alive and after death. They know by heart all the songs, all the texts and all the contexts of the plays and the lives of the actors.
