ANATOMICAL THEATER | EXHIBITION AT COLISEU DOS RECREIOS

Discover Anatomical Theater — an innovative project bringing together heritage, science and contemporary art to bring bold artistic experiences to a wide audience.

Based on the historical collection of the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon, which celebrates 200 years, and occupying the emblematic spaces of Coliseu de Lisboa, this exhibition places the past in dialogue with artistic creations developed in contexts of cutting-edge scientific research.

Co-curated by Marta de Menezes, an international reference in bioart and artistic research, and Manuel Valente Alves, a specialist in the history of medicine and the city, the Anatomical Theater project invites artists to participate in residencies in biomedical laboratories. Based on the concept "One Health", the interconnected relationships between human, animal and environmental health are explored — revealing new ways of thinking about the body, life and the ecosystem.

Between science, memory and experimentation, Anatomical Theater is an invitation to see, feel and question the boundaries where art and biomedicine intersect.
