Those closely following the Portuguese music scene have known the name Margarida Campelo for many years – a recurring and striking presence at concerts and shows featuring Bruno Pernadas, Cassete Pirata, Joana Espadinha and Minta & The Brook Trout, among other bands and artists. As a solo artist, she made her debut in 2023 with Supermarket Joy, an album in which she explores territories of pop, soul, r&b and experimental jazz with a mastery reserved for few. The album was unanimously well received by Portuguese critics, opening space for new recording work in 2026.
After releasing Mexe-te Mais um Pouco, Margarida Campelo started 2025 with the ballad Eu Sei Que o Amor, a finalist theme at the Festival da Canção that crossed the Atlantic and travelled to Brazil in the company of her quartet.
