Ma_Jara

Ma_Jara, the designation of this encounter between European and Eastern music, comes from the Arabic word majarah (galaxy). Following a previous project, called Jadayel, in which Quatuor Béla joined Palestinian musicians Ahmad Al Khatib (oud) and Youssef Hbeisch (percussion), the experience is now expanded with the introduction of two other Middle Eastern instruments – the nay and the kanun. As before, Ma_Jara is a space of discovery between cultures, reinforcing an artistic and human connection and a path towards harmony among peoples.
