La Fanciulla del West

Giacomo Puccini

La Fanciulla del West

La Fanciulla del West was, in 1910, the first world premiere presented at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, months after Puccini completed the creation of this opera inspired by the American West. The work would become part of the Met's history and would also stand out in Puccini's repertoire, thanks to its artistic immersion in a different cultural landscape. In this production by Richard Jones, the story of the love triangle between a tavern owner, a charming bandit and a policeman determined to deliver justice is performed by Sondra Radvanovsky, SeokJong Baek and Christopher Maltman.
