DIAS DO JAZZ '26 | "MEDITATIONS – IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF JOHN COLTRANE" – ORQUESTRA DO HOT CLUB PORTUGAL

Taking advantage of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of saxophonist John Coltrane's birth, the Hot Clube orchestra presents original music inspired by his musical universe by established contemporary composers. He is one of the most important names in the history of Jazz who, despite having a relatively short recording career of ten years, left numerous recordings and a deep mark on this music, influencing all subsequent saxophonists and other improvising instrumentalists. The names of the chosen composers reflect the orchestra's desire to engage with Jazz being made today, unafraid to take risks and cross aesthetic boundaries. These are Ingrid Laubrock, Anna Webber, Frank Carlberg, Luís Cunha and Carlos Azevedo, and may also feature the participation of Anna Webber and Ingrid Laubrock.
