Rob Mazurek and Chad Taylor have ended the emblematic Chicago Underground Duo's lengthy 11-year silence with the International Anthem release of Hyperglyph, a feast of jazz colliding with the deconstructed language of post-rock, a rhythmic menu of African tradition and the experimental exuberance of electronic music. The reunion of Mazurek and Taylor comes after their experiences with the collectives Exploding Star Orchestra, Fly or Die (by Jaimie Branch) and Marshall Allen's Ghost Horizons, in a dialogue that combines Taylor's percussion in a trance state with Mazurek's constant centrifugal movements, drawing on a broad range of instruments and a multimedia dimension reserved for the stage.
