Beatrice Rana crossed paths with the music of J. S. Bach from an early age. She performed live for the first time at nine years old, having then interpreted the Concerto in F minor. A year later, she listened to the Goldberg Variations by Glenn Gould, and realized that the limits for her expressivity were greater than she had believed, eventually recording the Variations at the same age as Gould, with expressive praise from Gramophone magazine.
