"AT THIS HOUR, IN CHILDHOOD IT SNOWS"

SAT 26 / SEPTEMBER / 21h30 GRAND AUDITORIUM Age 6+ | 70 MIN. | €4 / €3 / THEATER CARD "AT THIS HOUR, IN CHILDHOOD IT SNOWS" VICTOR HUGO PONTES | Companhia Maior On stage, bodies of different ages overlap to highlight the contrast, on one hand, but also to celebrate the beauty of the mature physique. In this creation with Companhia Maior, Victor Hugo Pontes follows an eminently physical approach, inspired by the potential of a body that has lived for a long time – a counterpoint to his previous experience working with adolescents. If the vigor of youth is marked by lack of experience and self-control, in older age limitations are resolved through stage experience. What idiosyncrasies announce themselves in the physicality of these performers who carry a long trajectory inscribed in their bodies? To this question, Victor Hugo Pontes set out to find a choreographic statement. On stage, bodies of different ages overlap to highlight the contrast, on one hand, but also to celebrate the beauty of the mature physique: a dancing body that has lost strength and speed, but carries existential memory and has gained definition and intention. The younger generations create a mirror that allows us to reflect on what we still are, on what we were... a trigger from the past towards an open future, in a present where, as Manuel António Pina wrote, "the scars of the heart remain" 2 , in which forgetting is also wisdom and childhood reappears, refined.
